Meth
2007 September 29
I read this today…”If you are the youth minister of 30 students, three of your students have probably been offered meth before and one student may have actually tried it. And if the average teenager who has tried meth did so by age 12, then it is not just an issue affecting youth groups but children’s ministries as well.”I try to stay up on culture, I read mtv.com everyday. I even buy new jeans every couple years so students think I am cool on Wednesday nights, but this stuff always catches me off guard. You can read the post on churchrelevance.com or the original CBS News report here.
well I’m here (invited from facebook) and I would say that was totally true of the 45 or so youth I had in my youth group in Marietta (just outside Atlanta) from 1999-2005 and maybe then some. Of course depending on what your mission is in youth ministry maybe it’s more like 1 out of 2. Nice blog and thanks for the invite.
Thats a nice dose o’ reality right upside the head.
thanks for sharing.
Mark, Go on my myspace page and look at the video I just posted. I am sure you have probably seen it. But if you haven’t take a look. I think more of our youth need to see this. It is really scary off a the things out there right now. Steph Tackett
